This Privacy Policy explains how ParkingCost ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you visit parkingcost.org (the "Site"). The Site provides informational parking-cost estimates and does not currently require an account.

2. Information we handle

Calculator inputs

Your destination, vehicle type, arrival time, departure time, and expected stay are processed in your browser to produce an estimate. We do not intentionally transmit or store these calculator inputs on our servers.

Language preference

If you change the Site language, the selection is saved in your browser's local storage so the Site can remember it. You can remove this preference by clearing site data in your browser.

Technical and usage data

Our hosting, security, and analytics providers may process limited technical data, such as IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, referring page, approximate location, timestamps, and diagnostic or security events. We use this information to deliver, secure, troubleshoot, and understand use of the Site.

Messages you send

If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message, such as your email address, account handle, and message content. We use it to respond and maintain appropriate business records.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

The calculator does not require advertising cookies. The Site uses local storage for language preference. Hosting or analytics services may use essential or privacy-focused technologies to provide security and aggregate traffic measurement. If we later introduce advertising or non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and provide consent controls where required.

4. Third-party services and links

We may rely on service providers such as Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery, security, and logs, and Unsplash for remotely hosted imagery. When your browser requests third-party content, that provider may receive technical request data under its own privacy policy.

The Site also links to email, Telegram, X, attraction websites, parking operators, and other third parties. We do not control their privacy practices, content, or services.

5. How we use and disclose information

We use information to operate and secure the Site, provide requested features, respond to messages, measure performance, prevent abuse, comply with law, and protect our rights. We may disclose information to service providers working on our behalf, when required by law, to protect safety or legal rights, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell personal information for money.

We retain contact records and technical logs only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, legal compliance, and dispute resolution. Retention periods may vary by provider. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

You may clear local storage, limit browser tracking, or stop using the Site. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a copy of certain personal information. You may also have the right to complain to a local data protection authority. We may need to verify your request and may retain information where permitted or required by law.

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
